Take Me to the Mountain

A poem about finding God in nature

By Sharen Robertson

Breathtaking view of autumn mountains and forest from a window at sunrise
Take me to the mountain,Where pine trees grow so tall.Place me in the garden,God made for one and all.
"Walk the path I've cleared for you,"Says Jesus on the breeze."Gaze upon the majesty,Of God's creation thru the trees."
Breathe in the serenity,Let the peace of God indwell,Pray gratefulness will always be,The only words I tell.
Take me to the mountain,And plant me in the ground,I'll grow among the wildflowers,And God's beauty all around.
Place me in the mountain,Where bobcat, bear, and bird,Remind me of God's presence,And the stillness of His Word.
Left behind is city life,The bustle and the race,Traded for a mountain now,And walking at God's pace.
See God in His glory,In the boundless stretch of sky,In trees and fields and streams,His sunset makes me cry.
I've found a bit of paradise,God's garden is my home,He blessed my life and placed me here,No need for me to roam.
Take me to the mountain,Where my life blends in with His,Surrounded by His Spirit,Where everything just 'is.'
The days of life pass quickly,I've found a peaceful place,Living on a mountain,Where I can touch God's face.
Amen
